Dr. Naomi Ralph
Naomi has a strong research background and brings that same curiosity and learning to her work with clients. Naomi uses a strengths-based approach that recognises each client’s skills, interests and personal attributes and ways to build on these. Naomi has a conversational style that is fun and engaging, and she works in a highly collaborative way. Sessions can feel like a brave adventure to make sense of experiences, be ok in the present, and maybe even find a little hope for the future.
Naomi uses a scientist-practitioner approach, working to the evidence base for each client’s unique set of circumstances and experiences. Naomi draws on the following therapeutic approaches; Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Family Systems Therapy, and body-oriented approaches to sooth the nervous system and meet sensory needs.
Naomi is excited to work with children, teenagers and adults on a range of presentations, including post-traumatic stress disorder, depression and anxiety. Naomi has a particular interest in working with neurodiverse and gender diverse clients, as well as those that have experienced trauma.
